A SAVAGE KINGDOM
Developed alongside London-based independent publishers, Hurtwood, A Savage Kingdom is a culmination of the first ten years of the brand, exploring the stories behind Sabina's exquisite hand-drawn illustrations, informed by nature, myth and history.
MANUFACTURE
Sabina and the team at Hurtwood made an early decision to produce the book entirely in the UK, mirroring the ethos of Sabina´s label and ensuring close oversight of every aspect of manufacture.
Working with an art director on the timeless design of the pages, a high-end printer in Bristol and a bindery in North London, ensured Sabina kept close oversight of the design, construction and provenance of the final book.
THE FINAL DESIGN
Grouped by collection, the fabric-bound coffee table art book escorts the reader on a journey through the narratives and inspiration behind Sabina´s work.
Stories range from Tipu Sultan, the 18th-century ruler of Mysore, to Victorian zoological and botanical illustrators who travelled across the world in the hope of discovering new species.
