We are delighted to reveal our latest artist commission; a bespoke, one-of-a-kind embroidered silk panel, featuring Sabina’s design, The Birds of Innocence. This design forms part of the Samplers of Sincerity collection, based on antique embroidery samplers, and it represents endangered and threatened birds from around the world. Sabina has worked with London embroidery artist Rachel Rousham to create a modern version of the classic embroidery sampler, using Rachel’s technical skill and vision to interpret key areas of the design into stitch. The silk twill panel has been hand finished with a fine satin linen backing cloth and is ready to be framed or hung as per your preference. This is a truly unique and hand-laboured artwork.
We have chosen to offer this piece by auction to raise funds for Born Free Foundation, a charity passionate about wild animal welfare and Compassionate Conservation. We hope that the proceeds will aid their tireless efforts to stop the exploitation and suffering of individual animals living in captivity or in the wild. We want to help campaign for a future where animals and people can co-exist and where threatened and endangered species are protected for generations to come.
