To commemorate ten years of the Sabina Savage brand, the designer has chosen to release a limited-edition scarf, the very first of its kind. Sabina has returned to one of the most-loved designs in her archive, Aviarium Maria, to produce an exclusive scarf displaying her original pencil illustration. This product honours the dedication to true craft and artistry behind Sabina’s distinctive prints. Each scarf is individually numbered within the print, meaning no two items are the same.
Taken from the O, Divina Natura collection, this illustration features an elegant swan queen raising her wings from a gilded cage. She is surrounded by wild birds, tanagers and spindalis, bountiful lemons, butterflies, and a cowering capuchin monkey. It references the religious roadside shrines and tributes around the streets of Europe, alongside the beautiful Renaissance paintings, altarpieces and triptychs which inspired them. Beautiful Azulejo tile art of Portugal and Brazil also play a large part, often containing trompe l’oeil scenes within alcoves in the walls. Once used as a shrine to the Madonna, these alcoves are now a different type of sanctuary. Their dilapidated glory worships and celebrates the beauty and resilience of nature’s divine bounty.
This style is a medium-weight, beautifully soft wool and silk blend fabric. Its matte, opaque texture gives the print an antique, organic finish. Each piece is printed and edged in England with a delicate hand fringe. This item will arrive packaged in a bespoke mist grey gift box, made in England alongside our usual packaging, and designed exclusively for this release.
This exclusive scarf follows the release of Sabina’s first art book, A Savage Kingdom, chronicling ten years of her distinctive illustrations, stories and designs.
Every Sabina Savage product arrives individually gift wrapped as standard.
Scarf orders will include a signature branded gift box and branded travel dust bag (for scarves 90cm square and larger). Clothing orders are packaged in either a branded gift box or branded garment bag, dependent on the item. Each piece is wrapped in bespoke ivory tissue paper and a gold wax seal.
